Police raids singer Sean Kingston’s home and arrests him

Sean Kingston, a musician, was brought into arrest in California a few hours after his mother was also taken into prison following a search conducted by the authorities on his house in Florida.

According to US media, including CBS News, a partner of the BBC, the lady detained was Mr. Sean Kingston’s mother. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the raid to the BBC, stating that they executed search and arrest orders at the address.

“An adult female, Janice Turner, 2/16/1963, was taken into custody on numerous fraud and theft charges as a result of the investigation. This investigation is active and ongoing.”

Following that, it was alleged that officers were observed removing items from the residence. Whether the arrests were related to the company’s claims was not immediately apparent. After many hours, Mr. Kingston was arrested in southern California, and according to Broward police, it went “without incident”.

Ver Ver Entertainment asserts in court filings obtained by the BBC that Mr. Kingston reached out to the business on social media in September 2023 with the intention of buying a “232-inch Colossal TV, coupled with a robust sound system”.

It is said that Mr. Sean Kingston “induced” the company to install the devices with “as small a downpayment as possible” by providing “numerous false representations.” One of these false representations was that he would collaborate with Justin Bieber on business promotional films.

In its statement, the business asserts that Mr. Sean Kingston’s activities were the driving force for the decision to install the devices..

It is the assertion of the company that Mr. Sean Kingston failed to pay the outstanding sum after the installation, which resulted in the company filing a lawsuit against him for fraud and breach of contract. According to a lawyer for Ver Ver Entertainment, the company is hopeful that it will be able to retrieve it from the property after the police raid, as reported by Local 10 news in Miami.

“We know that our property is inside this house right here, so as soon as the raid takes place, we are going to have a crew of people in there to reassemble it and take it back to its rightful owner.”
