Caitlin Clark Signs Wilson To Create Signature Basketball
Anticipate the first instance of a young kid approaching NCAA Division I all-time scoring leader Caitlin Clark with one of her signature Wilson basketballs and requesting a signature—a moment the current Indiana Fever star won’t soon forget.
From Indianapolis, Caitlin Clark tells me, “I think it is going to take me a second,” after practice. Just absorb everything. What I’ve been trying to do over the last year has included a lot of firsts and special memories. So that’s the first one. It will mean more to me than it will to the younger admirer.
The Fever selected Clark first overall in the WNBA draft after she graduated from the University of Iowa. In the business end of basketball, Caitlin Clark and her team have been very busy since her debut on May 14 of the regular season.
These latest arrangements include two signature items: a shoe from NikeNike 0.0% and a basketball from Wilson, her newest sponsor.
Wilson said that the primary quality of her brand “is that it’s a brand I’ve always had in my life.” “When I was younger, I spent a lot of time dribbling this black and yellow basketball on the driveway.
I constantly wore it out by dribbling on the concrete at the hoop of our home. The deal with Wilson also includes limited-edition basketballs in Caitlin Clark’s honor, in addition to an upcoming line of trademark basketball varieties.
Caitlin Clark will become the only player to have Wilson’s signature treatment, with the exception of Michael Jordan. She continues, saying, “I feel fortunate and lucky.” “There is no one better than Michael.”
Seeing young kids eventually master the technique of dribbling with my signature [ball] makes me appreciate how lucky I am to be involved in this and the first person to do so since [Jordan].
I think it contextualizes Wilson’s high regard, along with what they are doing and the basketballs they are producing. According to Caitlin Clarks, connecting with the younger generation is what excites her the most.
Caitlin Clarks will focus on topics that appeal to her and that a broad spectrum of people can connect to when she starts working on her unique designs.
“I want to make something that conveys the excitement of playing basketball and how much fun it is,” she said. “I hope I can share those two constants with everyone; they have been there for me.”
No matter how the process turns out, Caitlin Clark knows she is in charge of it. Ultimately, the ball has her signature. “I get to have the last say on things, which is the coolest part,” she says.
Wilson said that in addition to the iconic basketball, Clark would provide advice and suggestions on a range of Wilson basketball products.
The brand will work with Clark to drive the creative direction of its signature line, which will be published later this year, and will commemorate her with collections at various price points throughout the balance of 2024.
Included in the first collection is a Wilson classic white and gold WNBA ball with personalized laser inscriptions celebrating iconic Clark moments.
As part of the deal between the athlete and the company, Wilson formally joins the Caitlin Clark Foundation, whose mission is to improve the lives of young people via sport, education, and nutrition. “It demonstrates that this is a genuine partnership,” says Clark.
Wilson has made it feasible for me to repay the towns and people who have supported me along the road. I want to do that. I’m grateful.

Wilson’s global director of brand, Amanda Lamb, states that “Caitlin Clark is not just a record-breaking athlete, but a cultural icon who has had a profound impact on the game.” “We are incredibly excited to collaborate with her to keep advancing basketball in both on and off the court.”
The push into business is nothing new for Clark, who studied marketing at Iowa and had previously completed profitable NIL deals while enrolled at the institution located in Iowa City.
“My major is business.” With regard to the increase in opportunities for sponsorship, she says, “I know what I am doing.” More than anything I could do in school, I get real-world experience every day. I’ve been learning stuff on the go.
Clark admits that her support network has helped her focus on her basketball skills by helping her navigate the many decisions and transactions. Making a genuine Wilson basketball will soon be included in that focus on the game.
